Arctic Science Interests

My research interests include large-scale atmosphere-ocean-ice interaction, ocean mixed layer physics, and upper ocean circulation. More specifically, I have studied how sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies can repeat from one winter to the next due to upper ocean processes. Recently, I have begun to study how the distribution of Arctic sea-ice influences the atmospheric circulation and how climate variability affects ecosystems. These studies have been conducted with observations, simple models and GCMS.
