Chris Derksen

Photo Chris DerksenChris Derksen is a research scientist with the Climate Research Division of Environment Canada, and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Geography at the University of Waterloo. His research activities focus on using satellite observations to monitor Arctic snow and ice. Chris started doing field work in the Arctic as an undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo in 1994, and since then has returned to lead many field campaigns. His favourite spot in the Arctic is Eureka on Ellesmere Island - striking topography, beautiful weather, and lots of musk-ox.
